This residence stems from the need to create a social welfare model that can ensure a life as close to normal as possible for people living with dementia. Opened in 2019, the village offers an environment that improves people’s quality of life overall and responds to the complexity of a person’s physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs. It is the first Italian village modelled on The Hogeweyk® concept.
